I've had good luck with this cab company. They have always been on time or before. The people answering the phones could be nicer, but hey, the business is getting people where they're going on time, and they do that part well.?

EX- Diamond Owner/Driver responds....?

I am an old-timer that was an owner/driver with Diamond back in the 1970"s. Back then, most (not all) of the drivers were professional and personable, even though it was extremely difficult to make a living (I never made more than $15k in a year, despite NEVER missing a plane or skipping a call). Today, it takes twice as long to get anywhere due to the traffic, and expenses have increased dramatically. (Gas was 50 cents!). So you tell me: would you want a job in which many/most drivers earn less than the minimum wage and have to deal with frustrated and angry people for 12 hours a day? People trying to beat the fare, vomiting in the back seat, being abusive, expecting free services, etc...as with anything else, you get what you pay for. If the job enabled nicer drivers to make a decent living, nicer drivers you would have!!. OH... all you Diamond haters should go try out the service with most of the other District Cab companies, they will not make you a happy person either. ...?

Congress and the Commission have always dictated a system that removes all profit incentive for the small owners and drivers - go ride with a cabbie and see how polite and gracious you feel after crawling around town for a day! Tip: if the phone goes unanswered, look up...is it raining or snowing? Everyone want a cab NOW in bad weather, but would you risk an accident in a blizzard for subsistance pay? I always did, but it was never worth it. Your self-important sense of being wronged is duly noted, but continually whining will never change a thing - it is all about the money, folks! Do I sense a groundswell of support for a bailout for the DC cab companies? I bet that your riding experience would be vastly improved if Pres. Obama took over and ran these companies.. (Old Diamond #205 in quiet, cool and uncongested Vermont now...mack?)

Excellent service?

I called Diamond Cab early in the morning for a short tip from Georgetown to the DC Courthouse. The person on the phone was friendly and polite, the cab arrived quickly, and my driver was fantastic. After reading the previous reviews, I was a bit concerned, but I couldn't have been more pleased.?M

Reliable and quick!?

I call Diamond cab a couple of times a week for a ride in to work. They've always arrived about 10 minutes after I call (with one exception - a busy Saturday afternoon when it took about an hour). They're friendly and dependable!?

Better than the rest?

While it may not be saying a lot, Diamond is consistently more reliable than any other cab company I call. They always show up at my Capitol Hill address (which I cannot say for several other companies), and when they're running late I usually get a call. Also one of the few companies that seems to use mostly native English-speaking drivers.?

I have never had a bad experience with this tax cab service. Every time I've called to make a reservation the car has always arrived a little early, it has never arrived late. If I ever go to the airport I make sure to call this company ...?

DC cabs in general are terrible, but I use Diamond everytime I need to get picked up. I have only ever once encountered a rude phone operator, but never a rude driver. It is tough to get picked up on Friday/Saturday nights, but during the week they are spectacular. They usually arrive within 10 minutes of the call.?
